Since the 2010s I have regularly taken part in public, educational, and research projects. For me it is a way to work with people, support bottom-up initiatives, and understand the society I live in.
Science and public education
Polytechnic Museum, Moscow
Helped organise science festivals and documentary film events: coordinating guests, working with lecturers and audiences, moderating children's focus groups. Taught me to handle large crowds, explain complex things plainly, and support a team under pressure.
Civic participation and observation
Independent election observer
Monitoring polling stations, recording violations, working with documentation. Focus on accuracy, calm, and following procedure.
Monitoring peaceful assemblies and police conduct
Observation at demonstrations and in police stations with human rights initiatives. The task is to document what happens and help keep participants safe.
Field expeditions and culture
Folklore expedition, Barguzin district, Buryatia
Trips to remote villages, collecting oral histories and local practices. Work with limited infrastructure and respectful contact with local communities.
Emergency response
Volunteer work on wildfire suppression. Team work under stress, safety protocols, basic crisis response.
